  What does money represent to YOU ?

  for example does money represent to you power, love, joy and much more or does money represent to you feelings of worry, guilt, anger, sadness.. for myself i have always enjoyed living largely on little, and i can appreciate that the best things in life are free.

  having said that i am glad i have been fortunate and sensible enough with money to never have exsperienced the anxiety of debt.

  and it may sound silly but i dont think winning it big on the lottery would improve the quality of my life nor my family.

  Freedom/a tool.

  I certainly would not be able to do what I'm doing now without it (putting myself through school).

  Not the most important thing in life, but it sure as hell helps if it's there when you need it.

  this is how a do explained the family business policy re relatives of df/da members.. he said that the expression, "necessary family business," is really not a scriptural term.

  it is nowhere found in the bible.

  but, out of the kindness of the gb's hearts, they have gone beyond what is written and allowed association among families for necessary business.

  How did HQ handle the increase of new JWs leading up to 1975?

  this new donation arrangement under the pretense that so many new halls are needed to accommodate the worldwide increase has me wondering.

  the numbers in the current annual reports don't show anywhere near the increase as there was leading up to the 1975 debacle.

  so how did the gb of the time handle a genuine need for more kingdom halls?.

  This is a great question.

  Just checked jwfacts.com, and publisher growth was 15% before 1975. Even in the 1980s growth was above 5%.

  Now here we are in 2014 with publisher growth somewhere between 1-3%, and yet there's this UNPRECEDENTED, EPIC NEED to build more shit.

  That doesn't add up, but not to worry!

  Watchtower has disabled everyone's critical thinking skills.

  The Big Mistake: celebrating 100 year of Kingdom Rule (1914)

  the watchtower society has announced the celebration of 100 year of kingdom rule since 1914.. in recent history, more dictorial regimes has celebrated their years of rule.. i see the society's celebration as the big mistake.

  it's a boomerang, a double edged sword.. during and in the aftermath of the celebration there is a change that the institution, the watchtower system, will breakdown.. just like the german demoratic republic, celebrating their 40 years of rule!

  in a few month's time the gdr was gone.. gorby.

  so proclaimed the brother that read the wt letter tonight that explained the new kingdom hall funding arrangement.. everyone in the hall claps .... well, like it was the last talk on the district convention.. he says 'what bank would wipe out a debt of $200,000 ???

  I think you're onto something there. However, by just mentioning that the kind of money they were expecting was on par with at least the same amount as the mortgage payment, the elders are already primed with the notion of how much to kick in.

  HOWEVER, the congregation has NO IDEA what page 2 says, and will donate accordingly, i.e., not much.

  Their two levels of information may come back to bite them in the ass.

  ANNOMALY - I think that's exactly what will happen. Even my wife said Who is going to continue to contribute big bucks when it was just read from the stage that there is no more loan repayment?

  I mean, we're talking JWs here, the cheapest (and brokest) people on earth.

  I'm sure there will be "adjustments."
